Alessandro, passion and deliverability with Mindbaz

Alessandro is the first Italian sales representative to work for Mindbaz. Thanks to him, the email deliverability solution is now commercialized in Italy. A success due to Alessandro’s expertise in email marketing and deliverability.

Email marketing: The thread to Alessandro’s professional path

Alessandro did not plan to become sales representative at first. 

“I studied communication and ICT  at the University of Turin and quickly, I was looking for an internship. The beginning of my professional experience was actually funny. I was supposed to work in marketing.

But in less than 7 days, the team I was working with realized that I was good at talking to people. They gave me a shot to join the sales team.”

For his first experiences, Alessandro was in charge of handling inbound leads

“I began to learn about email marketing for the Italian market. Each country has specificities and rules. Filters of Italian Internet Service Providers (ISP) have their own technics and the legislation is also quite specific. Of course, the GDPR is a basic for every European country.”

In 2020, COVID pandemic began and he decided to embrace a new professionale challenge  : 

“I joined a top notch  Email Service Provider in Italy. They were looking for a sales with technical skills to support the customer journey.”

“I began to improve my deliverability skills. I became more aware of the good practices and how the anti-spam filters are working. I had the opportunity to work with chinese companies that were using WeChat.
That was an interesting challenge, because they have really specific rules.”

2023 is a new twist for Alessandro who heard that Mindbaz wanted to open the Italian market 

“At this point, I understood that the Italian market needed a reliable provider for its email deliverability carry out. We have to be accustomed to deliverability.
There is a need. Companies must  be sure they are going to reach their audience. Mindbaz’ opportunity to open to italian market was perfect.”

Deliverability and engagement

Email deliverability refers to the ability of a message or campaign to reach their audience. 

“Deliverability is a reflection of customer engagement. We need to be aware of what the customers want to receive. 

Let’s talk about my own situation. 

To me, it’s unuseful to receive football content. I would unsubscribe. Depending on how the audience reacts, you need to adjust to keep up the engagement.”

The email engagement is based on every interaction with your campaign: clicks, openings…
Many Internet Service Providers use it as an indicator (among others) to estimate the quality of your email campaign and even the quality of your domain.

Finding new clients

Alessandro is now Country Manager for Mindbaz. 

“70% of my time is dedicated to sales operations, such as finding new clients. We are working with outbound sales models. Since the topic is quite hot at the moment, talking to the good person might be quickly successful.”

That’s the reason why we already identified the most important events dedicated to email marketing and deliverability that will take place in Italy.

If Mindbaz brand still needs to expand in Italy, the marketing team is working with the sales team to share the filters’ good practices

Spam words : Are they still useful to get your emails into inbox ?

“I spend 30% of my time supporting the marketing team so they can understand the market to help me spread the word. I think we can do a great job because the deliverability subject is definitely underrated.”

Working for Mindbaz from Italy

After opening an office in Barcelona (Spain), Mindbaz is now in Turin (Italy) with Alessandro. 

“Here the environment is very friendly. People are really aware of the obstacles I encounter. I have the chance to talk to managers who are open-minded and who understand the difficulties to face when you open a market.

I feel in line with the company vision. The way we’re going to evolve and how we listen to the customer needs.“

A multicultural team

As part of the sales team, Alessandro has already build a trustful relationship with his colleagues. 

“Each market has its dedicated sales representative. French, Spain and Italy are the main Maindbaz’s markets and each one has its own nuances.

It’s really interesting to talk with the other members of the team to exchange ideas. Rachel also brings an american point of view in the company.”

Rachel is the Lead Product Manager of Mindbaz. If sales people are the direct touch, Product team has the understanding and the responsibility to lead the change. They have to be open to new trends that are challenging the company. 

“Working with the Product team is particularly important for me. I need to understand how our solution works to do a better job. That’s why I also have to talk with the tech teams. Data, devops and software teams are an endless source of information.

The bigger the company, the less intern communication there is. Mindbaz is the contrary. This flexible company can build better relationships between teams.”

“I had a really good feeling during the interview. I could feel the excitement about projects from Thibaut and Sebastien. The long-term plan was so interesting. I really appreciated the fact that the managers were into it.

“The 3 cofounders think big about transparency and so do the managers. We have a monthly meeting to share every team’s numbers, successes and improvements. 

It’s really reassuring. It helps us to see how we can contribute to the company.”

Passion is one of the motors of Alessandro. A trait he shares with most of his colleagues. 

“If you want to work with Mindbaz, it’s not really about the tech skills. 

It is more about passion. I guess at the end of the day, passion is what drives you. And customers can feel your passion.”
